A native of San Antonio where his father was a practicing orthodontist, Dr. Jeff Merritt graduated from Churchill high school in 1980. He continued his education at Baylor University and Baylor dental school, graduating in 1992 in the top ten of his class with high honors and numerous clinical awards. Following dental school, Dr. Jeff Merritt completed a two year orthodontic residency earning a masters degree in orthodontics and certificate of orthodontic specialty from Saint Louis university.
He then joined his father in 1994 to form the father – son orthodontic team of Merritt Orthodontics. Dr. Jeff Merritt has aspired to be an orthodontist from an early age and has been around orthodontics all his life and couldn't imagine doing anything else. He loves what he does – working with each patient individually to create a beautiful, healthy smile – and it shows.
Dr. Jeff Merritt resides in Boerne with his wife, Shanna. They spend their time engaged in family activities with daughter, Macy and son, Hudson.
Dr. Jerry Merritt is Texas all over. Born in the panhandle, he then grew up in Corpus Christi and went on to receive his undergraduate training at UT in Austin. He then earned his dental degree and master's degree in orthodontics at UT Dental Branch in Houston. Dr. Jerry Merritt and his wife Ginger then moved to San Antonio and he has been practicing orthodontics in San Antonio for over forty years and has treated well over 12,000 patients.
Dr. Jerry Merritt is active in numerous civic, church and professional organizations including having served as president of The Southwestern Society of Orthodontists. He was also instrumental in developing and testing the braces that are now the leading edge of orthodontic technology.
Known by their five grandchildren as "Gramps" and "GiGi", Dr. Jerry Merritt and Ginger live in the hill country near Boerne where they enjoy and fly fishing, river kayaking and photographing nature. |
